• Company formation under its own direction

Our history dates back to 1938: Back then our company founder, Heinrich Großekämper, founded a brickyard in the local village Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. After 75 years we are still remaining at our production site in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. Instead of producing brick stones we are now manufacturing plastic packagings for customers all over Europe.

  • The sand-lime brickwork

The H. Großekämper sand-lime brickwork has already been operated successfully since 1961. In the background you can see autoclaves, in which the sand-lime bricks are hardened. This sand-lime brickwork plant is still in existence as an independent and owner-managed plant today. More information on this can be found at www.ks-grossekaemper.de.

  • New possibilities

The founding of H. Großekämper Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG in 1970 saw the start of plastic packaging manufacturing. The specialisation in oval plastic buckets was linked to a continual new and further development of the product range. The success of the specialisation quickly became apparent in the rapid and positive company development and the construction of a state-of-the-art machine park.

  • Groku

groku – derived from Großekämper Kunststoffe – came into being in the mid 1970ies, as can be seen in the logo design draft that is depicted in the background. Initially, the logo’s purpose was pragmatic in nature, as it was used for labelling the products. After 40 years, the groku brand has successfully established itself on the market and stands for high-quality plastic packaging.

  • A Success Story

groku is growing constantly and can further expand its product portfolio. Investments are continually made in the machine park as well as in the storage areas and production halls. The company is winning additional customers in the food and non-food industry, and the groku containers have already established themselves internationally.

  • A Question of Quality

groku entered the new millennium with a history of growth that has continued throughout the past decades – not least due to the fact that plastic packaging is very popular with customers. New container forms are continually being developed for both national and international customers. In doing so, we have succeeded in acquiring new business fields. In the meantime, the product portfolio comprises a great variety of different container sizes in the areas of oval, round and rectangular buckets.

  • Expansion

In 2010, an additional production hall was erected that is able to satisfy the high standards required by the food industry. A state-of-the-art machine park was established and the capacities expanded in the field of food packaging. Investments were also made in machines in the non-food area and corresponding peripheral equipment.

  • Anniversary

We are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Großekämper corporate group and look back with pride at a successful and eventful corporate development. The quality of the products and the ability to continue with this success in the course of the last 75 years also remain close to our hearts in the third generation of the Großekämper family, which has also been represented in the management board since 2009.

  • HIGH-BAY WAREHOUSE

A forward-looking investment in a fully automated high-bay warehouse in 2019 laid the foundation for countering the increasing complexity of the supply chain.

We see ourselves not only as a manufacturer of high-quality plastic packaging, but also as a system supplier and solution provider of complex delivery requirements and conditions that our customers approach us with on a daily basis.

As an innovative company, we rely on the available means of digitization 4.0 in order to sustainably increase the efficiency of the processes of groku and of our customers. The high-bay warehouse will be launched in the 2nd quarter of 2020.
