Recycling

A (MOSTLY HAPPY) POST ABOUT RECYCLING

If the coronavirus pandemic did not exist, “recycling” might stand a chance at becoming the word of the year 2021 – at least where plastics and packaging are concerned. Seemingly everything is becoming more and more sustainable everywhere …

Green Loop: Everything at a glance, everything for a more sustainable future

At groku we have reasons to be happy and reasons to be unhappy about the current development. First and foremost, we welcome all efforts made to avoid waste, conserve resources and generate as little carbon dioxide as possible. In this context, we can pat ourselves on the back a little. After all, we have been producing buckets from 100% post-consumer recycled material for about ten years now. By now we have produced around ten million recycling-based containers, processing over 5,000 tons of recycled polypropylene. To learn more, check out our blog post about the topic or visit our Green Loop landing page.

And: Just recently, we convinced Sigma Coatings (PPG) to join the ranks of paint manufacturers who will replace part of their pure-white buckets with containers made of grey post-consumer recycled plastics produced by groku.

The current debate about plastics and greater sustainability is working in our favour because it raises awareness among our customers – for a more circular economy. The same also applies to end consumers. When more people learn that “grey” is better than “white”, this constitutes a significant contribution to protecting the environment and the climate! To show what smart use of plastics – in particular polypropylene – looks like in our opinion, we have created our own landing page for our Green Loop. In few words and seven steps we show how we can prevent waste and promote recycling – with advantages that benefit us all.
